"Art –You occupy a very central place in my small pantheon of great educators... I think you know that it's hard for me to convey our gratitude for your remarkable sensitivity, wisdom, and kindness during a challenging time in our lives. You have been a serious force for good in this world, and we'll always appreciate it."

LOCATING THE RIGHT PROGRAM FOR YOUR CHILD

Finding a match for your child's needs can be an overwhelming task. For some it's a matter of making the appropriate adjustments that will allow your child to thrive in their current school setting. For others there's a need to find a match that accommodates the unique demands of diverse learners who require enhanced support. In some cases therapeutic issues are immediate and take precedence, requiring wilderness or residential placement.

The burden on parents can be tremendous and all family members are affected by these difficulties. The goal is to guide parents through the decision making process and helping to gain a larger perspective, which includes all aspects of academic, social, and emotional concerns that are interfering with your child's ability to manage day-to-day life challenges.

EDUCATIONAL CONSULTING

There are two main reasons I’ve chosen to work with troubled teens for so many years. One is to help young people rediscover their sense of hopefulness, breaking out of the grip of failure or self-destructive behaviors, moving in the direction of living the life they’ve imagined.  The other has been to step in and assist when the scope of the problem has gone beyond the family’s ability to find the answers.

As a consultant I look to mentor and coach those impacted.  I’ve guided many families through crisis situations they never thought they might encounter.  My role is to listen carefully to your needs, assess the situation, make you aware of available options and to direct you through the process of finding solutions.

WHY HIRE A CONSULTANT

As an independent educational consultant, I can assist families based on individual circumstances.  With many years of experience, I can read between the lines to make thoughtful recommendations and suggestions in line with the needs of each student.  Whether your goal is to enhance your child’s current program, locate an alternative day school setting or find a residential option, using an educational consultant can maximize the chances of making the most appropriate choices and investment in your child’s future.

Nothing is more frustrating for parents than watching their child fail. Whether it's poor grades and difficulty keeping up academically, the inability to connect socially and find a peer group, or falling into repetitive self-destructive patterns, there are supports available to help get things back on track.

Our mission is to offer options that will enable students to rediscover their sense of well-being so they can go on to fulfill their potential, a commitment that extends to family members as well.
